1. Who We Are
Dixon App Studio is an independent developer of mobile and web applications, including productivity tools, calculators, converters, business utilities, sports analytics tools, casual games, and review sites. Our goal is to build simple, useful, no-clutter software with no subscriptions.
2. Information We Collect
We aim to collect as little personal information as possible. Depending on which app or website you use, we may collect:
- Information you provide: contact form submissions, email address (only if you reach out), and content you voluntarily enter into a tool (such as values in a calculator or text in a template).
- Automatically collected data: standard log data such as device type, operating system, browser, approximate location (country/region from IP), referring page, and pages visited.
- Cookies and similar technologies: small files used for analytics, preferences, and (where applicable) advertising.
- App data stored on your device: most of our mobile and web apps store user data (entries, settings, calculations) locally on your device. We do not transmit this data to our servers unless explicitly stated within the app.
3. How We Use Information
- To operate, maintain, and improve our Services.
- To respond to support requests and feedback.
- To analyze usage so we can fix bugs and prioritize improvements.
- To display advertising in supported apps (where applicable).
- To comply with legal obligations and prevent abuse.
4. Third-Party Services
Some of our apps and websites use third-party services that may collect information under their own privacy policies. These can include:
- Google Play Services / Apple App Store: for app distribution, crash reporting, and analytics.
- Google AdMob / Google AdSense: for advertising in some apps and websites.
- Analytics providers (e.g., Google Analytics) for understanding aggregate usage patterns.
- Hosting and infrastructure providers that deliver our websites and apps to you.
We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
5. Advertising
Some of our free apps and websites display ads served by third-party ad networks. These networks may use cookies or device identifiers to deliver relevant ads and measure performance. You can typically opt out of personalized advertising in your device's settings (e.g., "Limit Ad Tracking" on iOS or "Reset Advertising ID" on Android) or via your browser's cookie controls.
Google AdSense on our websites
This website (dixonappstudio.com) and some of our other websites use Google AdSense to show ads. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and other websites. Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to our sites and/or other sites on the Internet. Google may also use cookies, web beacons and similar technologies to measure ad performance and prevent fraud. Learn more in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising from Google at Google Ads Settings, and from many other vendors at aboutads.info (or youronlinechoices.eu in Europe). If you opt out you will still see ads, but they will not be personalized.
- Consent (EEA, UK and Switzerland): visitors in these regions are shown a Google-certified consent message (Google's consent management platform, IAB TCF) before advertising cookies are set or personal data is used for ads. You can accept, decline, or choose specific purposes, and change your choice at any time using the privacy & cookie settings link the message provides. If you decline, Google may still serve non-personalized or limited ads, which use cookies only for frequency capping, aggregated reporting and fraud prevention.
- US state privacy laws: where applicable, AdSense honours restricted data processing for opt-out requests; see section 13 for how to send a "Do Not Sell or Share" request.
- You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings; the site still works without them.
6. Data Storage and Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect information. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. Most data entered into our apps stays on your device. If you uninstall an app or clear site data, that information is generally removed.
7. Accounts and Sign-In
Most of our apps and websites do not require an account. Where an app or website does offer sign-in (now or in the future), we may collect:
- Email address and (optionally) a display name.
- A securely hashed password, or an authentication token if you sign in with a third-party provider (e.g., Google or Apple).
- Account preferences and any data you choose to sync to the cloud.
Account data is used solely to provide the requested functionality (sign-in, syncing, support). You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us.
8. Per-App Data Practices
The following summarizes what specific apps in our catalog handle. Unless noted, data stays on your device and is not transmitted to our servers.
Mobile Apps
- All-in-1 Converter Calculator (iOS, Android & web): calculation history stored locally on your device or in your browser; no personal data collected. Available on the App Store, Google Play, and at allinoneconvertertool.com.
- Bill Organizer and Tracker: bill entries, due dates, and reminders stored locally on your device.
- Currency Converter Worldwide (iOS, Android & web): may fetch exchange rates from a public rates API; no personal data is sent with those requests. The Android app displays third-party advertising (Google AdMob) and includes Firebase Analytics, which may collect device identifiers, app usage/interaction events and coarse location (country/region from IP) as described under Third-party services below. Available on the App Store, Google Play, and at currencyconvertworldwide.com.
- Instant Quote Maker Template: quotes, client info, and line items you enter are stored locally; sharing a quote uses your device's native share sheet.
- Mileage & Tax Expense Tracker (iOS & Android): may request location/GPS permission to auto-track trips. Trip and expense data is stored locally and only leaves your device if you choose to export it. Available on the App Store and Google Play.
- Mind Skills Arcade: game scores and progress stored locally; no personal data collected.
- Monthly Income Booster (iOS & Android): notes and tracked ideas you enter are stored locally on your device. The app displays third-party advertising (Google AdMob) and includes Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, and Remote Config. On iOS, we ask for your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt before any tracking that uses the advertising identifier (IDFA); if you decline, ads are non-personalized. Advertising and analytics SDKs may collect device identifiers, app usage/interaction events, crash diagnostics, and coarse location (country/region from IP) — this data is used for tracking and advertising as declared on our App Store privacy label. Available on the App Store and Google Play.
- Smart Roofing Calculator: measurements and estimates stored locally; no personal data collected.
Web Apps
- Bullpen Edge / HoopVantage: sports inputs and stats are processed in your browser; aggregate analytics may be collected.
- Smart Roofing Calculator (web) / Smart Fencing Calculator / Smart Decking Calculator: measurements you enter are processed in your browser and not stored on our servers. Smart Fencing Calculator and Smart Decking Calculator are also available as native Android apps on Google Play; in those apps, calculations stay on your device and any advertising or crash/analytics data is handled as described in sections 10 and 10a.
- Smart Insulation Calculator (web + Android): available at smartinsulationcalculator.com and as a native Android app on Google Play (Android only). Measurements, R-value inputs and cost estimates are processed on your device or in your browser and are not stored on our servers. Any advertising or crash/analytics data is handled as described in sections 10 and 10a.
- Smart Tile Calculator (web + Android): available at smarttilecalculator.com and as a native Android app on Google Play (Android only). Tile, grout, thinset and cost calculations run on your device or in your browser and are not stored on our servers. Any advertising or crash/analytics data is handled as described in sections 10 and 10a.
- Smart Drywall Calculator (Android): a native Android app on Google Play. Room dimensions and material estimates are calculated on your device and are not sent to our servers. Any advertising or crash/analytics data is handled as described in sections 10 and 10a.
- Just Like Games / Geography Quiz Arcade: casual browser games and quizzes (both are also available as native iOS and Android apps); gameplay data and quiz scores stay on your device or in your browser. Ads may be shown.
- Monthly Income Booster (web): articles and tools; standard analytics and ads may apply.
- Express Biz Tools / Instant Sheet Templates: any data you enter into a tool or template is processed in your browser; downloaded files are saved by your browser, not by us.
- WebP Convert to JPG: image conversions are performed in your browser. Your images are not uploaded to our servers.
- Fur Reviews / ColumbiaSCInsider: content/review websites; standard analytics, cookies, and advertising may apply.
- Grams to Cup Converter: measurement values you enter are processed in your browser only.
Where any app departs from these defaults (for example, by adding cloud sync or accounts), we will update this policy and, where required, request your consent.
9. Device Permissions
Some mobile apps may request the following permissions. Each is used only for the stated purpose and can be denied or revoked in your device settings:
- Location (GPS): Mileage & Tax Expense Tracker — to auto-detect trip start/end. Used only while tracking; not shared.
- Notifications: Bill Organizer and Tracker — to send local bill-due reminders. No content leaves your device.
- Storage / Files: Instant Quote Maker, Bill Organizer, Mileage Tracker — to save/export PDFs, CSVs, or backups you create.
- Internet: Currency Converter Worldwide — to fetch live exchange rates from a public API. No personal data is sent.
- Vibration / Sound: Mind Skills Arcade — for game feedback only.
We do not request camera, microphone, contacts, calendar, SMS, or call-log permissions in any current app.
10. Third-Party SDKs
Our apps and websites may include the following third-party SDKs and services. Each operates under its own privacy policy:
- Google Play Services — required for Android app distribution and basic device integration.
- Firebase Analytics (Google Analytics for Firebase) — included in our mobile apps to measure app usage, screens viewed, and feature engagement. Collects a app-instance identifier, device model, OS version, app version, and coarse location (country/region from IP).
- Firebase Crashlytics — collects crash and error diagnostics (stack traces, device state, app version, and a randomly generated installation identifier) so we can fix bugs.
- Firebase Performance Monitoring — collects app start time, screen rendering, and network request timing to improve speed and reliability.
- Firebase Remote Config — delivers configuration and feature flags to the app; sends the app-instance identifier and basic device/app attributes.
- Google AdMob — serves ads in our free mobile apps. May collect device identifiers (including the IDFA on iOS or Advertising ID on Android), ad interaction data, and coarse location for ad delivery, personalization, frequency capping, and measurement.
- Google AdSense — may serve ads on some websites; uses cookies for ad delivery and measurement.
- Google Analytics — aggregate usage analytics on websites (page views, device type, country).
- Apple App Store / StoreKit — for iOS app distribution and (where applicable) in-app purchases.
- Visitor notifications (this site) — for site-owner awareness, when you visit dixonappstudio.com we log a hashed identifier (derived from your IP and browser), the page visited, the referring URL, and an approximate location (city/region/country) derived from your IP via a third-party geo-IP service. This is used to send the site owner a real-time notification of new visitors. We do not store your raw IP address indefinitely and we do not share this data with advertisers.
Unless a specific app's entry in Section 8 says otherwise, our mobile apps include Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, Performance Monitoring, and Remote Config, and free apps may also include Google AdMob advertising. We do not use the Facebook SDK, Unity Ads, or other third-party analytics or advertising SDKs beyond those listed above. If we add any, we will update this policy.
10a. Tracking, IDFA & App Tracking Transparency (iOS)
Some of our iOS apps that display advertising engage in "tracking" as Apple defines it — linking device or usage data with third-party data for targeted advertising or advertising measurement. Before any such tracking occurs, iOS shows you Apple's App Tracking Transparency (ATT) permission prompt. If you allow it, the app and its advertising partners may access your Identifier for Advertisers (IDFA) to deliver and measure personalized ads. If you decline, ads are served in non-personalized form and the IDFA is not accessed.
You can change this at any time in Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking on iOS, or reset/limit your Advertising ID in Settings → Google → Ads on Android. These app-level tracking and advertising disclosures match the privacy labels we declare on the App Store and the Data safety sections we declare on Google Play.
10b. YouTube API Services
Dixon App Studio uses YouTube API Services in an internal tool that uploads and schedules our own videos on our own YouTube channel and reads view statistics for those videos. The tool does not access, collect, or store data from any other YouTube user, and none of our public apps or websites ask you to connect a YouTube account.
- By watching our videos on YouTube you are also subject to the YouTube Terms of Service.
- Google's handling of data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.
- Data we read through the API (our own videos' titles and view counts) is kept in our internal reports for up to 26 months and is deleted when no longer needed.
- Our access can be revoked at any time on the Google security settings page. To ask us to delete any data, email us using the contact details below.
10c. Pinterest API
We use the Pinterest API in an internal tool that publishes and schedules Pins from our own content calendar to our own Pinterest account (dixonappstudio) and reads basic statistics for those Pins. The tool does not access, collect, or store data from any other Pinterest user. Pinterest's handling of data is described in the Pinterest Privacy Policy. Pin statistics are kept in our internal reports for up to 26 months. Access can be revoked at any time in Pinterest's Settings → Security and logins → Apps.
10d. Instagram API (Meta)
Our internal tool "Dixon App Studio Social" uses the Instagram API to publish posts and Reels from our own content calendar to our own Instagram professional account (dixonappstudio), to read that account's own recent posts so nothing is posted twice, and to add a first comment to our own posts. It does not access, collect, or store data from any other Instagram or Facebook user, and it never posts to Facebook. The access token is stored encrypted and used only by this tool. Meta's handling of data is described in the Instagram Privacy Policy. Access can be revoked at any time in Instagram's Settings → Website permissions → Apps and websites. To ask us to delete anything we hold, see Delete account & data.
10e. TikTok API
The same internal tool uses TikTok Login Kit and the Content Posting API to upload short videos from our own content calendar to our own TikTok account (dixonappstudio), either as drafts in that account's TikTok inbox or as posts, and reads that account's basic profile (display name, avatar) and posting settings. It does not access, collect, or store data from any other TikTok user. Tokens are stored encrypted and used only by this tool. TikTok's handling of data is described in the TikTok Privacy Policy. Access can be revoked at any time in TikTok's Settings and privacy → Security → Apps and services permissions.
11. Data Retention
